For the summer issue of Kot v meshke—a printed Russian-language magazine for curious kids aged 7 to 12—I had the opportunity to reimagine the kids’ magazine layout in collaboration with the author. This special edition focused on nature and summer activities and called for a fresh, more dynamic visual approach.
The author envisioned an energetic and immersive issue that would invite young readers to explore every page. To bring that vision to life, I reworked the kid’s magazine design to feature flexible sections, custom typography, and a strong emphasis on illustrations. We removed previous templates to experiment with new compositions and more visual storytelling.
The result is a bold, playful kids’ magazine layout that balances text with imagery while keeping the content accessible and engaging. Designed in InDesign and polished in Photoshop, this 32-page print issue sets a new creative direction for the magazine—one we’ve decided to carry into future editions.
