My process
At first, I did some sketches on paper to see what direction to go. I used some concepts from USSR era.
After discussing with my classmates what works and what doesn’t, I did some digital versions in Illustrator.
I narrowed my choice to two versions and played with fonts and colors.
However, I decided to stay black and white.

History Reference

In the USSR, this sign used to highlight the quality of a product. If you see this “quality sign” on a product, you can be sure it won’t break. Devices usually were very heavy and ugly looking. However, my family in Russia still have some kitchen items they bought many many years ago and they work just perfect. I even brought some of them with me when we moved to the US.
PS. The Flying Balalaika Brothers didn’t use my logo explaining that it does not display their brand.
