Acceptance of Terms
Taking into account the nature of freelance work process, it is impossible to sign formal documents each time the changes discussed. Therefore, electronic communication will be held as acknowledgment.
I do love my job and I always strive to help my clients. To be a happy designer and be able to provide hight quality service I need to have some personal time. This assumes work will be completed within the standard work week (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). I do not work on all major holidays and the entire week of Christmas and New Years.
Deadlines work two ways and a client will also be bound by any dates that we set together. The client also agrees to stick to the payment schedule set out together. I will perform the services the client need from me and I will carry them out in a professional and timely manner. Along the way I will endeavor to meet all the deadlines set but I can’t be responsible for a missed launch date or a deadline if the client has been late in supplying materials or have not approved or signed off our work on-time at any stage.
My hourly fee is $30. I will issue an invoice to you every other week, and payments shall be due 5 business days after receipt of invoices.
We also can discuss a fixed price for your project.
A client will provide me with everything that I need to complete the project including text, images and other information as and when I need it, and in the format that I ask for. The client guarantees that he has all the necessary rights and ownership in such materials to permit me to use them for the project.
For multi-page publication, I usually provide three design concepts to choose the direction to go to, one main design, plus the opportunity for a client to make up to two rounds of revisions. If the client is not happy with the designs at this stage, he will pay me in full for all of the work that I have produced until that point and he may either cancel a contract or continue to commission me to make further design revisions at the daily rate set out in original estimate.
If the client does want to change his mind, add extra pages or templates or even add new functionality, that won’t be a problem. The client will be charged the daily rate set out in the estimate I gave you. Along the way I might ask you to put requests in writing so I can keep track of changes.
A client agrees to review my work, provide feedback, proofread all final designs, type and press proofs. I will make all efforts to ensure that no information is misrepresented. However, the client assumes all responsibility for content. Client’s approval of all tangible materials and artwork will be assumed after the work has been submitted to him for review, unless he indicates otherwise in writing.
In order to avoid errors, text changes and corrections will not be taken over the telephone and must be provided electronically. Any text with extensive changes must also be provided as marked up hard copy, e-mail with list of changes, or odf with sticky notes, indicating the revised text.
I can use samples or photographs of the work created and client’s name for publications, exhibition, competition and other promotional purposes (such as my website) once the project has been made public.
I ask you to mention my credit on all publicity/promotion of the project and/or our relationship, including awards, competitions, press releases, etc.
Example: Design: Veronika Grebennikova
Delays and Termination
All payments received are not refundable in the event the project or the relationship is terminated for any reason. If any part of the work for this project is delayed for longer than 30 days, I will bill for work completed.
Consequences of Non-Payment
I reserve the right to suspend work and/or withhold issuing any project documents if invoice payments are not received within a reasonable period of time from invoice date.
Length of Storage
I agree to store all final electronic files created for you for a maximum of one year.
Project files will be prepared using Adobe CC applications, such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (which I feel fits the most for particular task). If you have specific requirements for how project files must be prepared, tell me about this in writing before the project begins.
